Before you buy a dog, consider adoption!!I received an e-mail today from the Michigan Dog Events Yahoo! group about a problem in Ingham County, MI. They originally got their information from WILX.com.

The story is, unfortunately, becoming way too familiar lately — 70 dogs, mostly Australian Shepherds, from a "breeding" facility living in horrible conditions, now face euthanasia along with many other dogs because of overcrowding at the county shelter.

Ingham County Animal Control has space for only 110 animals and they were already full. Needless to say, if some of these animals are not fostered or rescued very quickly, they will be euthanized.

There are a great variety of animals at the shelter — dogs and cats of all sizes, ages and breeds — even some bunnies. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, please contact Ingham County Animal Shelter at 517-676-8370.

One person can make a huge difference in life of a rescue animal.
