Robb
Status: Not Adoptable
Date of Birth: December 5, 2015
As some of you may know, Robb was previously adopted, but then brought back to Mackenzie’s. After the medical team assessed Robb upon his return, they discovered exceptionally large, firm lymph nodes all along his body. Unfortunately, after running a cytology test, he was diagnosed with lymphoma. More tests were sent out for specific staging so we were able to begin chemotherapy with the recommended protocols from Oncology.
With the most aggressive chemotherapy, sadly, the average survival time for lymphoma in dogs is 6-8 months (although we have had a 15-month survival in one of our prior Mackenzie’s lymphoma patients, Mecca).
Additional tests were done on Robb and his results are supportive of a “slower growing” lymphoma (similar to Denver’s for those who remember him). . Robb has responded very well to the less aggressive chemotherapy, which he will stay on indefinitely. His indolent lymphoma will likely be managed for years without causing him any problems.
Robb is currently living the GREAT life in a permanent foster home. As of 12/27/2022 he is still doing very well and is one heck of a happy boy!
