New Puppy
“We got a new puppy! Now what?” The day you bring your newly adopted puppy home is an exciting time. Puppies are a bundle of joy, energy, and curiosity and they look to their new owners for guidance and socialization. The first three months of a puppy’s life is a time of tremendous learning and change; therefore, this is the key time for your puppy to benefit from new life experiences. To help your adorable puppy become a happy, confident, socialized adult dog, your family should expose the puppy to new experiences in a fun way. For example, introduce your puppy to people wearing hats, the sound of a train, vacuums, and other potentially “scary” things with enthusiasm and plentiful treats available. The more positive interactions your puppy encounters, the more confidence your adult dog will have!
