Adoption Date – 3/20/2010
Update – 3/22/20010
We adopted Elcie (boxer mix) on Saturday. She is such an amazing dog, to the point where I think she’s too good to be true. She has blended into our family perfectly in such a short period of time. Our other dog Jack absolutely adores her. They love to play together.
Update – 3/30/2010
She had her first Saugatuck State Park experience last Sunday. We hiked the
5 1/2 mile loop and at the halfway point stopped for a drink of lovely Lake
MI water. Her and Jack ran like crazy dogs on the beach! Oh so much fun.
Needless to say we had some tired pooches on the way home.
I can’t tell you how awesome she is! (Although her one bad habit is
creating "art" in our backyard via holes.) Pre Neika, Ted was adamant about
her not sleeping in the bed. His exact words were: "If we get another dog,
I do not want her to sleep on the bed". To which I replied, no problem we
just train her from the beginning to sleep in her bed or crate at night.
Fast forward to three nights ago…..Ted says to me "I feel sorry for her,
she wants to be up here so bad, maybe we should let her sleep here." I
stood my ground and she slept in her crate. I was out of town Monday night
and guess where she slept. He said she jumped on the bed after he had
fallen asleep. Needless to say, we have two dogs in bed w/ us now. I knew
she would get to him! ” title=”Smile” />
