i adopted sandy from mackenzie’s about three years ago. my favorite thing about her is how adorable she gets when she wakes me up. she stands right next to the bed with a huge smile and gets really wiggly and her tail is wagging like crazy, making a quick-paced thumping sound against my nightstand. then she starts in with her fake sneezing and low talking. i wish i could set her like an alarm clock because i’d always wake up in a good mood.
a few weeks ago, my dog luke woke me up about 5:30 on a saturday morning. it was past their usual breakfast time, so i just assumed he was ready to eat. i got up and wandered into the kitchen to find sandy standing over an empty bag of minibagels and another empty box of cinnamon rolls. one look at her rotund belly told me where they had gone. she slowly looked up at me with a look that said, "i’m SO full". it took her two days to digest all of that food. surprisingly, she only threw up a small amount later that night. now that she’s feeling better, she’s ready to do it all over agian, if given the opportunity!
sandy loves the snow!! her favorite thing to do is bury her face in it and burrow around with her butt in the air. then she flops over and rolls around on her back until she suddenly pops up and takes off running as fast as she can in large circles around the yard. she’s so fun to watch.
I love the bagel story! glad she was alright, but honestly what a clever little lady, so sneaky, and such a goofball! and Luke is so hilarious, taddling and her like that….. that’s what siblings are good for I suppose! Bagels make me full too, but they are SO delicious. Tell Sandy I can relate.
i was woken up by barking dogs at 1am. after i got them calmed down, i heard, "crunch, crunch, crunch" then a pause and more, "crunch, crunch, crunch". i realized sandy had gotten into something and slowly the thought that i had thrown away some chips just the day before crept into my head. i turned on the light and, yup, half the bag was gone. if that wasn’t bad enough, she had strewn the rest of the trash from the side of my bed all the way back to the trash can in the kitchen. nice job, sandy. the trash is now behind closed doors.
