Kristi on Fox 17 today!

Adopt Kristi during Senior Dog Month at Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary!

Kristi-4-1

Show some love for another Sanctuary Senior – Kristi!  Her story starts out sad but you wouldn’t know it after meeting this wonderful gal!  Kristi was dropped off at a shelter with Heart worm and several other ailments.  Her D.O.B. is 4/07/04. Kristi battled heartworm like a trouper, and now acts like she has a new “leash on life”.  She has done very well with all staff and volunteers and just wants to hang out with you. Because of her age, may be best with older and calmer children.  She would make a great companion to read to, or tell your troubles to, and she will always listen.  She just wants to curl up next to a cozy fire and be with you.  Please come and see her today!

‘LAKE ODESSA, Mich. (WOOD) For 15 years, dogs without homes have found a safe and loving place to stay while they are between families. Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary is dedicating the month of February to finding homes for older dogs. There are several senior dogs at Mackenzie’s that need a loving place to live out their years. Because a dog is older doesn’t mean it’s untrained or unwanted. Many of them make good companions because they appreciate the small things and are often more relaxed.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary is holding a Valentine’s Open House on Saturday, February 28. Come out to see the facility, the grounds, and meet some dogs. It is from 1 to 4 p.m. at 8935 Thompson Road in Lake Odessa.

Mackenzie’s has a thorough adoption process that includes two visits at their facility, one visit at your home, and reference checks. You can get started by visiting their website or calling (616) 693-2490.’

We also showcased other Senior Sanctuary Sweethearts also looking for homes thru photos, enjoy:

Selfie Superstars!

We have a winner! – Actually our dogs and Volunteers are all winners!

For the month of January, Volunteers competed in a contest for the best Selfie with one of our Sanctuary dogs.  We had many wonderful submissions – despite the challenges of weather!  Winners were chosen on February 1st.  There were 63 submissions, so it was very difficult to choose between them all!  We just had to share the Top 5 –
