Digby
Status: Not Adoptable
Date of Birth: September 22, 2017

Before finding his safe haven at MAS in July 2019, Digby was passed from home to home, never truly knowing stability. While we may never know the full story of his past, what we do know is that somewhere along the way, he experienced deep emotional trauma. Digby struggles with severe anxiety, making new environments, unfamiliar people, and stressful situations overwhelming for him. He is incredibly sensitive to touch and startles easily, making simple interactions challenging. To help him navigate the world with a little more ease, Digby is on prescribed anxiety medications that allow him to feel safer and more at peace in his surroundings.
But Digby’s challenges go beyond just his emotional struggles—he also faces ongoing physical discomfort. He has a luxating patella in his right rear leg, which means his kneecap sometimes shifts out of place, making movement uncomfortable and unstable. He also has mild osteoarthritis in his right elbow, causing stiffness and joint pain, especially after activity. Whether these conditions stem from past injuries or just bad genetics, they make everyday movement a little harder for him. To manage his discomfort, Digby receives joint supplements to keep him as comfortable as possible.
On top of that, Digby battles seasonal allergies, particularly in the spring and fall. Just like in people, his allergies cause relentless itching and irritation. To help ease his symptoms, he receives monthly injections, medications, and soothing oils—a routine that keeps his skin from flaring up and causing him unnecessary distress.
Despite all of these obstacles, Digby has found a place where he is truly understood and cared for. Thanks to sponsorship support, he receives the medical treatments, stability, and love that allow him to live his best life at MAS. Without this safety net, Digby would have faced an uncertain and heartbreaking fate.
By sponsoring Digby, you’re not just helping provide his essential medications and treatments—you’re giving him the security of knowing he will always have a place where he is safe and loved. Will you be a part of Digby’s journey and help him continue to thrive?
