How do I prevent Heartworm?

Heartworm is prevented by giving your cat or dog monthly Heartworm preventative. There are several different Heartworm preventatives on the market. Some only prevent Heartworm and others have other medications that can help control intestinal parsites and fleas. Your veternarian can go over the different options with you and find the best preventative for your pet’s needs.
