You were right. As soon as I got home, I found both of them napping at Dan’s feet while he read the paper. They are angels. Monster (Annie) just doesn’t want to close her eyes and miss anything. We ate our hot dogs at the kitchen counter and they did not beg for food, which is a very good sign too. So glad to have been able to see you again, and meet Jim. What a nice guy. He must have a heart of gold to open up such a beautiful and caring facility as Mackenzie’s. We can’t thank you enough for the gift of Monster & Dozer and we promise to make their lives happy and healthy and loving as long as they live. We are so grateful that we were able to adopt them. It was meant to be. Monster & Dozer already met the neighbor man, and both went right up to him with no fear or hesitation, so we are surprised and pleased about that. They have not barked yet. We took them for a short walk down the road (with all their tags on) and they got lots of new smells in their nostrils. Now they are lying on the couch with Dan. We are one happy family, for sure.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. ~Mery

They are both so funny, sweet, smart, affectionate, and polite when company comes and excited to be here and playful and energetic. They love to scare the birds away from the ground where the seed has fallen from the feeder. And they know just where to look to see us watching them from the window. We are so overwhelmed by how well behaved they are. We feed Annie out on the screen porch and Luke in the kitchen where she can see him, because she won’t start eating unless she can see what he is doing. Dan has walked them together and they are excellent on the leash, too. We finally found the Kong toys at a doggie store and a couple really good smelling and tasting bones, but they don’t seem interested in those yet. They just want to be with us getting petted or napping or chasing birds in the fenced yard. That’s all for now.
Happy Memorial Day to you and the staff at MAS…………..Mery
