Reno’s new Mom left a message to share a cute little story from over the weekend….. She and her husband bought bicycles, with baskets, and were unsure how Reno would react – but Reno did awesome riding in his little basket. She joked around and said, “So now we look like old people, riding bikes with little dogs in baskets…. it’s great!! Thanks again for our wonderful new dog.” ” title=”Very Happy” />Reno’s 1st Week at Home 6-5-2009
Reno has been doing REALLY great! He has worked his way into the family routine like he’s always been there. He gets up early in the morning with Dad for potty-breaks and playtime in the yard, and then he crawls into bed with Mom and dog-sister Marley for the rest of the morning until Mom goes to work. It always makes Mom smile to open her eyes, and see Reno curled up on Dad’s pillow, right next to Mom’s head. ” title=”Very Happy” /> Reno hasn’t even had one accident, and has their routine for going potty outside down pat.As expected, our shy little Reno has occasionally been a little unsure of certain household noises like the blowdryer, but he seems to get over it quickly,… then goes to chew on his bone in the other room! Mom said he is SUCH a good boy, and is doing SO WELL for it only being the first week.
Reno really likes Dad a lot, and is becoming his little ‘buddy’. He loves to lay at Dad’s feet, and follow him around the house. Reno even gave Dad kisses the other day for the first time, and Mom hasn’t gotten any yet! But he loves Mom too – when she comes home from work, Reno follows her around while she settles in, just waiting for her to sit down and pay attention to him. ” title=”Very Happy” /> If Mom is sitting, Reno is constantly lying in her lap, which is fine with her! She thinks he is such a sweetheart.
In the morning especially, Reno loves running through the fenced yard, trying to get his dog-sister Marley to join in on the fun. Marley and Reno have been playing and wrestling a lot, really getting closer as they build their new relationship. Reno also got along very well with the family’s laidback Senior-dog, Vladimir; however sadly this week, Vladimir passed over to doggie heaven. Reno seems to be doing ok and bouncing back really well from this change, although it’s been more of an adjustment for Marley. Reno’s new friendship has seemed to really be helping Marley through this difficult time of losing her other long time pack-member. The whole family has done several walks together to keep distracted and get used to the new changes, and are growing closer through this time.
Mom couldn’t say enough about how well Reno is doing, and what a nice little dog he is! Even when he’s shy or nervous, they understand and give him all the time he needs. In their eyes, he’s been absolutely perfect!
