We are excited to share that we are now partnering with Bonfire, an online store to raise funds by selling Mackenzie’s shirts. Learn more...
Many times people ask "Why is Volunteering Important?" and our answer is "We could not operate without volunteers!" By spending time with Mackenzie’s dogs, volunteers keep the dogs happy, healthy, and adoptable. Kennel life is stressful. Taking the dog out of the kennel and into a comfortable living room or on a walk gives the dog a much needed relaxation break, as well as mental stimulation and physical exercise. Dogs that may be fearful learn to trust people. Daily interaction with humans keeps Mackenzie’s dogs highly adoptable. Volunteers are also essential in helping maintain the facility in tip-top shape and to help spread the word about Mackenzie’s at community visits.
