Have you always wanted to come out and see Mackenzie’s? Here is an opportunity to come out with your friends and family!

Come join Sanctuary Pups and staff at Mackenzie’s Holiday Open House and Wish List Drive as we celebrate the joyous holiday season. Attend the Holiday Open House and Wish List Drive on Saturday December 14th from 10:00am to 2:00pm and enjoy a festive celebration of love and compassion. During the event you can drop off holiday treats and toys to Sanctuary pups as they wait for their forever homes, get a tour of our facility, and even get the adoption process started.

Mackenzie’s will also have kids’ arts and craft, refreshments, and an opportunity to meet your sponsored dog.

6th Annual Pups and Pucks Fall Walk-a-thon

pups-and-pucks-6th-annualMackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary and the Grand Rapids Griffins, 2013 Calder Cup Champions, are hosting the 6th Annual Pups and Pucks Fall Walk-a-thon Monday October 14, 2013 from 5-8:30pm. Come join the 2013-14 season Grand Rapids Griffins players, coaches and front office staff, as they walk our rescued dogs alongside 300+ walkers, in an effort to raise funds and awareness for Mackenzie’s.

At the walk-a-thon, you and your family (and your four-legged friends**) can join the team by walking in an effort to raise awareness for abused, abandoned and neglected dogs. After the walk, join the fun and enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities including: Hay Rides, Petting Zoo, Arts and Crafts, a Pet-friendly Marketplace and so much more!

Registration Fee: $10 for everyone over 12 yrs old, Kids under 12 are free

**Dogs participating in the walk must present current proof of the following healthcare: Bordatella Vaccination, Distemper Vaccination, Rabies Vaccination, and proof of a negative Fecal Exam (fecal taken within last 12 months). Proof of your dog’s records can be faxed to Mackenzie’s office at 616-855-2285, or submitted with your Registration form.

BARK at The BOB – Benefit Dinner & Auction

bark-at-the-bob-2013We are thrilled to announce the 4th annual BARK at The BOB, Benefit Dinner and Auction, is scheduled for Thursday, April 18 at 6pm. Please join us on the 3rd floor of The BOB. You’ll enjoy an evening of wonderful cuisine, live music and mingling with local artists and celebrities. BARK at The BOB is one of Mackenzie’s largest fundraisers and we look for support from animal lovers like you to help make this event a huge success!

The Mackenzie’s Foundation funds the Sanctuary’s ongoing efforts to find loving homes for abused, abandoned and neglected dogs; spay and neuter dogs to stop the cycle of unwanted litters; assist in public education for the betterment of our local animal community; and maintain the highest standards of care for the animals, including veterinary care.
