Some time ago, Iron Man underwent surgery to repair a torn caudal cruciate ligament and multiple tears in his meniscus — critical parts of his knee that keep it stable and pain-free. The injury was rare and painful, but thanks to the dedicated care he received, he’s been recovering well. That said, his knees still need ongoing support, and arthritis in both knees means Iron Man will likely require long-term pain management to stay active and comfortable.

He also has hypothyroidism, a condition that affects his metabolism and energy levels. It’s easily managed with daily medication, which Iron Man takes like a pro. In addition to his physical conditions, he’s working through overstimulation in the kennel environment — meaning he sometimes gets overwhelmed or anxious when things are too loud or busy. With the help of medication, structure, and patient training, he’s learning how to feel calm and confident again.

Despite these challenges, Iron Man never loses his spark. He’s been doing fantastic with his basic obedience and continues to charm everyone at MAS with his big, goofy spirit.
