Rescue Reading Program

The Rescue Reading Program is all about kids helping dogs, and dogs helping kids – it’s a win-win! This program aids shy or nervous rescue dogs in socialization and fosters a meaningful connection between children and the rescue dogs.

Reading to dogs is a wonderful way for children to build confidence, improve their literacy skills, and develop a lifelong love for reading. Dogs make the perfect reading partners and best listeners; they do not judge or interrupt. Creating the perfect safe and fun space where kids grow more confident, improve their reading, and maybe even fall in love with books.

And the pups? They get much-needed comfort and friendly faces, which helps ease their stress and makes them more ready for their forever homes.

Because sometimes, the best reading buddy has four legs and a wagging tail!
