Linus

Date of Birth: June 8, 2025
No puppy should start life this way.
When Linus was found in December, left inside a tub in the dead of winter, he was only a few months old — the stage when puppies should be growing quickly, getting stronger every day, and filling out into their big carefree paws. Instead, Linus was so severely emaciated, with a face swollen with infection from dental disease, and so dangerously hypothermic that he couldn’t even move.
At 6 months old, when he should have weighed 25–30 pounds, Linus weighed just 8.5 pounds. For a puppy that age, that number is almost unimaginable.
The months that should have been filled with play, growth, and curiosity were instead spent in a fight for survival.
But Linus is a fighter.
Through treatments, discomfort, and a long road of recovery, he has kept pushing forward every single day. Now, at 9 months old, he has fought his way up to 27 pounds. While we are incredibly proud of how far he has come, it also shows just how much his early starvation impacted his growing body. At this age, a dog like Linus should be nearing his adult size and weighing much more.
Because he was so severely malnourished during critical stages of development, Linus’s body is still trying to catch up. As he gains healthy weight, his muscles and ligaments are struggling to keep up after being deprived for so long.
Despite everything he has endured, Linus is unbelievably sweet and full of love. We are so grateful he was found in time — and grateful to every person who helped him along the way.
Someone stopped for Linus when he needed help the most. Now we’re asking for help to carry him the rest of the way.
If Linus’s story touches your heart, please consider donating to support his ongoing medical care and physical therapy. Every dollar helps this brave boy continue healing and moves him closer to the life every puppy deserves — one where he will never be cold, hungry, or forgotten again.
Please sponsor today, share his story, and help Linus keep fighting.
