    Bentley’s 1st Week at Home

Mom said that things have been pretty good! She says he’s still “all puppy”, so there’s been the expected puppy issues coming up here & there, but overall Bentley seems to be fitting in really well.

He has done exceptionally well in the house – no potty accidents, and he sleeps all through the night. He does like to CHEW everything, so we are learning what to put up of his reach. They’ve been giving him lots of daily walks, and lots of safe chew toys, but they’re still keeping a good eye on him with the chewing (he even grabbed their son’s cell phone & chewed on that!).

To improve his major pulling on-leash, they decided to get an ‘easy-walk’ chest harness, and now Bentley walks EXCELLENT. They walked for over an hour last night, and it was a very enjoyable exercise experience for everyone.

Bentley loves the children, and they love him! He is still doing really well with their 5 year old, because she is “so commanding” and makes sure to tell Bentley ‘Nope’ if he jumps, and then she tells him to ‘SIT’ and he plops right down, awaiting her next command! Mom says it’s so funny to see such a huge dog listen to a child half his size. But they are all doing great together because the kids are so consistent with him.
Dad has really enjoyed playing fetch with Bentley in the fenced yard at night. Mom loves how affectionate Bentley is. When mom’s alarm went off this morning, Bentley woke her up with sweet little kisses, trying to get her out of bed. It was so cute! Mom said that Bentley is such a sweet boy, and they absolutely love having him as part of their family!
