Rusty Goes For A Car Ride!!!!

All three of our feral dogs have been a challenge in their own ways. For the past year Stephanie has been working closely with Rusty and has slowly introduced him to a car (hot dogs sure do go along way). After a few week of just sitting with him in the back seat she 2-ways me to come down – I found her and Rusty in the back seat of my car and she said start it up. So I did! He didn’t seem to be all that scared, so I put it in drive and we went for a ride around the Sanctuary. He did great, he seemed very relaxed and didn’t shake or cower at all, he kind of seemed proud. He sat up just a little taller, his body posture was relaxed and the fear of the world that always shows on his face disappeared. He was a normal dog going for a car ride. It was so incredible that and I’m so glad I was able to experience that moment.
