Couldn’t wait a week to tell you that Scooter is doing great! She is eating her food, she slept in her crate last night, and this morning she was by the sliding door and when I opened it for her she ran straight to the fence and went poop. We really love her and have been taking her out for many walks already. She wouldn’t go down the stairs with me, but when Tim tried a while later, she went down with him. Right now she is downstairs with us sleeping on her blanket (her red kong ball next to her).

Update – 1/16/2010
After being with us for just over two weeks, Scooter is still doing great! She doesn’t like walking on the snow, goes out does her business and then goes right back to the door. When we go for walks we stay on the side of the road were there is less snow. Scooter loves to go for car rides. Sometimes I think she rather go in the car than for a walk. We have taken her to Pet Smart and Chow Hound. Scooter has done great at both stores. I took her to the vet’s this past Monday and she just soaked up the attention. She was leaning into the doctor and the girls at the front desk. We got her heart worm medication and medicine for the redness by her hind legs. Scooter loves her toys! A few times she has gone out to the bathroom carrying one of her toys. She loves to be by us!

Update – 3/5/2010
Scooter is doing great! She has made herself at home . We have let her up on the couch to sit with us, but if we call her down, she gets off. On the weekends she loves to sleep with us on the bed.
She has slowly grown to “Not mind” walking with us in the snow. She will now stay out longer when she goes to the bathroom. She LOVES car rides. Sometimes I think she would rather go for a ride in the car than go for a walk!
We have bought her some stuffed animals from thrift stores….only 50 cents…so we aren’t out lots of money! Scooter got a material covered kong ball on her first day home, and had it for about two weeks before it was destroyed. We got her another one and it lasted a day! No more material covered kongs! If you bounce a ball she will catch it on the first bounce up most of the time.
Everyone who has met her thinks she is great! Which of course, she is!!!!
