I am and have been so impressed by the people I have met that volunteer here at MAS. Your dedication to our common goal is incredible. It is an honor to know all of you!!
MAS will always come to the front when there are dogs in need and save wherever we can no matter how thin we make our staff resources. We do worry about the welfare of our resident dogs but then realize our volunteers once again have doubled or tripled their efforts and the resident dogs are doing just fine.
Sometimes it even seems the resident dogs get more time because of your efforts. Nothing we do here would be possible without each and everyone of you.
Thank you so much for being the awesome people you are!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mackenzie’s AdminMemberyesterday after i fed all my kids dinner i let them out to go potty. i looked out the window just in time to see princess and luke chasing each other around my lilac bushes. so cute! then luke took off running towards the house with princess running after him. it’s so great to see her having so much fun.
Mackenzie’s AdminMemberThanks for all of the kind remarks about us all. You are a wonderful person too. We all work so very hard and it’s all because of the common goal of Dog.
We have come so far together along this road and developed so many cool programs and saved so many lives. We have sacrificed our bodies sometimes and our hearts. Each time we sacrifice a piece of our heart we save another dog and we heal to continue along our path. Thanks to you all for helping so many animals be saved from bad situations!!
Mackenzie’s AdminMemberThank you so much for your kind words. You are such a sweet, kind hearted person. Mackenzie’s & the dogs are very lucky to have you as part of the team. THANKS!
Mackenzie’s AdminMemberI agree!! Those are so true, we have a great team! and Nicole always has such a cheery attitude and big smile to encourage everyone no matter what the situation. She looks at the bright side; the positive we can see in all circumstances, and most of all she has such a compassionate heart for each of these dogs…. even the ones who accidentally give her bruises in their excited jumping jubilees, she loves them even more!!
And our volunteers are amazing too, each and every one! We are very blessed to all work together as a team with the same mission — to help dogs in need. We each bring a unique strength to the team, and I’m so glad we can all share in these efforts together! Keep up the great work everyone!
Mackenzie’s AdminMemberI will never forget the morning I arrived at work just as Kathy went into Rosie’s run to read to her; I was out poop scooping in the run next door, and out pranced Rosie with a little treasure in her mouth–Kathy’s glasses case!! She was so proud of it, and seemed to really enjoy how much fun it was to throw around. The fact that she stole it and Kathy didn’t even realize it until I brought it back into the kennel to return to her (While she was in Rosie’s run!!) was funnier than heck. Rosie is such a little imp. Watch your valuables!
Mackenzie’s AdminMemberAs a staff member, I can’t say enough about how fortunate we are to have such wonderful volunteers. No matter how busy their lives are they always find a way to help! When we have situations come up like Hurricane Katrina and Montcalm Animal Shelter, it is wonderful to know that we are able to help out because of our volunteers. They help to insure our resident dogs don’t miss out on time while giving staff the extra time to devote to the new dogs that are in need. It makes the world of difference.
We couldn’t do any of the things MAS does, without our all of our wonderful volunteers!!
Mackenzie’s AdminMemberHercules was having a blast in the play yard with the mud today. He would dig up a clump of grass and mud then start shaking it around in his mouth. Needless to say you better watch out for the flying chunks of "who knows what" coming at your head. It was pretty funny as long as you were not the one in the play yard with him, not so much fun for Stephanie
Mackenzie’s AdminMemberRosie is the nicest little dog. She loves to give hugs and be by your side at all times. She is a sweet girl.
Mackenzie’s AdminMemberjust look at that face!! she is SO happy…. and so adorable!! great picture
Mackenzie’s AdminMemberprincess has a condition that makes it hard for her to gain weight. the vets tried to find out what was causing it, but were unable. last month she weighed 59 lbs and this month she weighs 62 lbs.! way to go princess!
Mackenzie’s AdminMemberAwesome is right! It is extremely heartwarming to see our volunteers give their time & their love to the dogs. And now, with extra dogs (assisting various rescues with dogs from Montcalm Co.), our volunteers are quick to step up & help out even more. We have amazing volunteers! Thank you all!
Mackenzie’s AdminMemberSweetpea always made me laugh, she was such a hyper, funny girl. I remember one day I took her, and one of her dog friends over to the pool building. Anyone the knew Sweetpea, knew her love for toys. So after playing for awhile, I finally got the toy she had away from her, I threw it into the wading pool and it sank. I didn’t really think her love for that toy would make her go scuba diving. Sure enough, under the water she went! She looked like a little hippo, but not so graceful, swimming under the water in search for her newly loved toy. She finally came up with toy in mouth, she was so proud.” title=”Very Happy” />
I had never laughed so hard in my life. Thank you Sweetpea for giving me such a wonderful story to tell.~Autumn
Mackenzie’s AdminMemberwell at their 2nd Visit, the girl dog was even a little more braver and came out of her shell more quickly, now that this place was all a little more familiar to her. And Keno was such a gentleman again, so she was more curious about him – and actually kept following him around, trying to sniff him, and thinking about engaging with mini-playbows, and then she’d act like she was teasing him…. so cute!!
we did a Home Visit – and finally this little girl was totally out of her shell, a whole new personality! She was super outgoing at her own home environment; she was running around, and play-bowing at Keno like crazy! They were so cute together, and it was so neat to see this shy little girl find such a great playmate like Keno . . . . a friend she can trust, and feel comfortable enough with to "be herself."
And YAY for Keno to have found a loving family to call his own!!
Mackenzie’s AdminMemberI love the bagel story! glad she was alright, but honestly what a clever little lady, so sneaky, and such a goofball! and Luke is so hilarious, taddling and her like that….. that’s what siblings are good for I suppose! Bagels make me full too, but they are SO delicious. Tell Sandy I can relate.
